School Vacation Week
QSI was closed for school vacation week last week. We took advantage of that by taking 2 trips -- on the weekends before (Ukraine) and after (Romania) that school vacation.
The first weekend we drove to Odessa, Ukraine with a lovely family with 2 kids (a 5-year-old from Peggy's class and his 7-year-old big sister) The trip was so much more fun sharing it with friends
On the Friday afternoon before school vacation week, we picked up the kids at QSI
and then picked up the father at the Embassy, and then we were on our way!
In these photos you see some of the roads we took to get to Odessa. Good thing we were in a Volvo SUV! (And the diplomatic tags helped with border crossings and security checkpoints. So, all the way around this was a great vehicle to get where we wanted to go)
We stayed at the Ayvazovsky Hotel, which was in a great location in the city center. Here is the cute giraffe they brought with breakfast on our first morning in Odessa
