Grigoriopol, Transnistria
My guide extraordinaire had brought books, historic postcards, and other exhibits about the history of Transnistria for us to review and discuss during our travels.
We crossed the border into Transnistria near Grigoriopol.
Not pictured are the Russian peacekeepers and their stations or the tanks at the border.
Pictured is the Drum Bun sign ("Bon Voyage") and signs in the city center of Grigoriopol, including one of the seal of Transnistria. You will see that the abbreviation for the republic of Transnistria is in 3 languages: Russian, Ukrainian, and Moldavian. (Moldavian is like Romanian, but using the Cyrillic alphabet.) The 65-20 sign commemorates 65 years since the victory in the Great Patriotic War and 20 years since the "independence" of Transnistria.

Hello!
ReplyDeleteIts me, Andrei! You have 1 mistake. NOT 65 years since the Soviet Union, BUT 65 years since the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
