City Day, Chisinau
I walked through the Chisinau Day festival to get to the Moldova Day events at Peggy's school. Stefan cel Mare was completely closed, as were other surrounding streets, and the entire area was transformed.
I was eager to get home from school so that I could take Peggy to the festival here.
We have been to several holiday celebrations in our neighborhood -- but this was like all of those festivals combined.
We left our apartment to walk up to Stefan cel Mare -- and there were make-shift restaurants and cafes that had been set up everywhere, all along the sidewalks and in the middle of the streets. There were tourist souvenirs and arts and crafts. And it seemed like some of the Central Market vendors moved this way -- you could buy boots, clothing, laundry detergent, chainsaws
We had fun walking down Stefan cel Mare and taking it all in. We bought some fridge magnets, wine, sampled Bucaria chocolates, and light-up bunny ears.
