legitimatie

As U.S. citizens we are legally permitted to travel to Moldova without visas or letters of invitation - and we can stay here for up to 90 days without additional paperwork or documentation

Every time we leave the country the "clock" stops (hence, our passports were stamped when we left and when we returned to Moldova)

So, we bought ourselves a few extra days with our long-weekend adventures during Peggy's School Vacation Week.

Nevertheless, we were getting close to that 90-day mark.

And with ANOTHER school vacation for Peggy coming up (needed to get babysitters for 3weeks of my Judicial Process class because of school closures. . . ) it would have been a shame for us to be limited in our travel possibilities because of not having the proper documentation

Not sure why the process took so long, but we were quite pleased to pick our legitimaties last week!

Now that we have the legitimaties in hand, we can laugh at the prospects (that never were!) of our becoming illegal aliens. (Not a moniker I ever expected to be ascribed to me . . .)

When we were returning to KIV (from Bucharest) and we were in line to have our passports stamped, the guys behind us simply couldn't believe that I had left Florida to come to Moldova. Yes, we did leave Florida to come to Moldova. I explained why we came, what we are doing, and how much we are enjoying our time here.

And now we can stay until my assignment is complete!
