Peggy delivered a presentation about "Christmas in Florida" in her Kindergarten class (the "Blue Crew"). (More about the presentation in my next post)
To complement the presentation we were also to bring a holiday treat from our country. Our favorite treat to make at home is baking and decorating cut-out sugar cookies. (Thanks to my friend David's care package) we had a Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie mix and sprinkles.
However, we did not have a rolling pin, cookie cutters, wax paper, baking sheet, cooling rack or other baking accessories that we have back in Madeira Beach.
And, even though we had the package of the cookie mix, we still needed to do all of the conversions (from Fahrenheit to centigrade, from cups to grams, etc)
(Per my friend David's advice), we pinched the dough into walnut sized balls, rolled the dough into a ball in our hands, rolled the ball in the sprinkles, then flattened the ball with the bottom of a glass. Then we baked them on the bottom of disposable baking tins (see photo)
Despite my concerns about our lack of supplies, they came out quite well.
