IWCM Angel Tree Project, Targoviste Library

The IWCM partnered with the Hipppocrates Center for its "Angel Tree" program. IWCM members each "adopted" one of the children at the Center and donated toys specific to the needs and interests of that child.

The event (to distribute the toys) was held at the Trigoviste Library (on Ion Creanga in Chisinau).

"Santa" distributed gifts to each of the children, many of whom had learned special songs, poems, and dances to perform for Santa before he gave them their toys.

The Hippocrates Center provides free services for children who suffer from neuro-muscular-skeletal disabilities up to age 15, including rehabilitation programs to help these children to integrate into society.

Rather than sending the children to an institution, Hippocrates allows families to keep their children at home with them - with the much-needed help of the medical and educational services that Hippocrates provides.

Seeing the joy on the children's faces underscored the old adage that it is so much better to give, than to receive.
