St. Petersburg, Russia: The Hermitage

The Hermitage -- the opulence and beauty of the palace itself along with its magnificent treasures [works by da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, van Gogh, Gaugin, Picasso, Matisse...] -- was truly breathtaking.
