On Sunday Peggy and I checked out the Wine Festival. This was one of the events our travel guide said was a "must see" event -- and we knew that Moldova's most well-known exports is wine -- so we were very much looking forward to the event
This year the event was held at the MoldExpo, a convention center, so I was expecting the event to be indoors
Not so
It was outside, and, unfortunately, yesterday was a cold, rainy day
However, we were able to see all of the crafts booths, the concession stands, the folk dancers and singers, and, of course, to taste some wine. (Well, I was able to taste the wine, Peggy explained to one host that she was not a grown up and could not taste the wine.)
We were also interviewed on TV!

Included in this post -- Peggy with her new hand-carved whistle (from one of the wood carver booths) outside one of the wine tasting tents. We went inside (it looked so cozy!) and the nice gentleman who gave us some grapes and some wine to taste (a "new wine," a chardonnay) chatted with us in English. He spent his work and travel summer in New Hampshire -- at a camp outside Concord. Peggy told him her Dad is from New Hampshire. Small world!
