Well, our Saturday morning ritual was a smashing success today. The chocolate chip pancakes were *perfect* and earned the Peggy seal of approval. (We have proper frying pan, spatula, measuring cup, mixing bowl. . . . what a difference a week makes!)
I even let her eat them while watching TV (which is always a no-no at home) -- becuase she could watch Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Club House on Disney Channel in English. And now she is watching Umizoomi in English on Nickelodean.
On the whole, I think we have done a fairly good job of balancing comforts from home with the adventure of trying new things.
Random note: I found the perfect creamer for my coffee. It's the little things that make a big difference.
